This presentation will provide an overview of treatment-resistant depression, with a focus on management strategies including transcranial magnetic stimulation, electroconvulsive therapy, and esketamine. Strategies for implementing these interventions into clinical practice will be discussed, with a focus on best practices to assure optimum outcomes for patients impacted by refractory depressive symptoms.

How to Earn Credit

A multiple-choice quiz is provided based on the content. A passing score of 75% must be achieved. After evaluating the program, course participants will be provided with an opportunity to claim hours of participation and print an official CME certificate (physicians), CE certificate (psychologists), CE certificate (social workers), NCPD (nurses), or certificate of participation (other disciplines) showing the completion date and hours/credits earned.

• Brayden Kameg, DNP, PMHNP-BC, CARN, CNE is an Assistant Professor of Nursing in the Department of Health and Community Systems at the University of Pittsburgh School of Nursing. She teaches across the undergraduate and graduate programs, where her teaching responsibilities include mental health nursing, advanced practice psychiatric nursing, psychotherapy for advanced practice psychiatric nurses, and psychiatric management for primary care providers.
