Leveraging mobile-first technologies and adopting a consumer mentality approach to healthcare will be the deciding factor in creating health interventions this century. Recent advances in digital health have yielded novel means to manage and treat medical conditions across multiple health specialties. Widespread adoption of technology in daily lives coupled with health analytics will also yield new pathways to develop mental health insights based on behavior and actions from real-world evidence. This, in turn, will spur creative methods of treatment across both traditional biopharma and novel startups in disease treatment innovation. Such examples currently under development include smart combination medications, digital biomarkers, and digital therapeutics. This presentation will evaluate the current adoption and utilization of such devices and technology and identify other technologies currently under investigation.

How to Earn Credit

Participants who wish to earn AMA PRA Category 1 Credit™, nursing continuing professional development contact hours (NCPD, formerly CNE), CE credit for psychologists, CE credit for social workers, or a certificate of participation may do so by viewing the recorded presentation and completing the evaluation. Participants claiming CE credit for psychologists and those claiming CE credit for Social workers, must have full attendance to claim credit. After evaluating the program, course participants will be provided with an opportunity to claim hours of participation and print an official CME certificate (physicians), NCPD (nurses), CE certificate (psychologists), CE certificate (social workers) or certificate of participation (other disciplines) showing the event date and hours earned.

• Timothy Aungst, PharmD is an Associate Professor of Pharmacy Practice at MCPHS University, Worcester, MA. He graduated from Wilkes University Nesbitt School of Pharmacy, Wilkes-Barre, PA, in 2011. Afterwards, he pursued a PGY-1 Pharmacy Practice Residency at St. Luke's University Hospital, Bethlehem, PA, with an emphasis on Internal Medicine, Cardiology, and Geriatric Care. He then completed a fellowship program focused on geriatic care, Medicare/Medicaid and drug management, and academia. While completing his post-grad training, he started writing for multiple companies on mHealth and Digital Health, with a focus on mobile apps. Since then, he has conducted research on digital health technologies in the pharmacy space and published in multiple peer review journals and spoken at multiple venues on the topic. He hopes to inspire the pharmacy profession to further integrate digital health into patient care and raise awareness on the future possibilities posed in the coming decades. Dr. Aungst is a consultant for GoodRx, LevelEx, Akilli Interactive, Teva Pharmaceuticals, Otsuka, and Eli Lilly. He is on the speaker's bureau for Teva Pharmaceuticals and Otsuka.
