The webinar will provide an overview of current professional practice guidelines and scientific publications on long-acting injectable antipsychotics use in treatment of schizophrenia. Many patients diagnosed with schizophrenia who are eligible for treatment LAI antipsychotics are limited in access to this treatment modality because of clinicians limited on advantages of LAIs over oral antipsychotics. Learners need to understand how utilization of LAIs in evidence-based prescribing can improve patient outcomes and decrease health care cost in treatment of patients with schizophrenia. This activity provides information on the professional guidelines on use of LAIs in treatment of patients with schizophrenia and specific advantages of selecting evidence-based treatment to improve patient outcomes.
